Welcome friends!

Thanks for stopping by. For those of you who may be new, I’m Rebecca. Like many folks out there today, I am a self proclaimed ‘plantaholic’. Indoor or outdoor plants it does NOT matter, bring on the plants. Cue my stellar dance moves and ‘I just cant get enough’ by Depeche Mode. After some serious thought in my late 20’s, I made the tough decision to quit my full time job as a social worker and pursue my passion for plants (in whatever capacity that meant). During this transitional time I came across ‘Horticultural Therapy’ while volunteering at Homewood Health Centre here in Guelph, my brain immediately thought “working to heal people with plant materials... I must be dreaming”. After further research and more volunteering with various organizations in the Guelph community I was fully committed to becoming a horticultural therapist. Today I am a member with the Canadian Horticultural Therapy Association and running workshops across the GTA. I am passionate about the curative power of plants and super stoked to have you along this journey with me.

Peace, love+plants!

"Flourishing Minds is absolutely precious.

Rebecca, the creator, has extensive knowledge in horticulture and human connection. I’ve attended the Winter Sage Bundle & Full Moon Meditation Workshop, Kokedama Workshop and Terrarium Building Workshop with her and have walked away from these feeling calm, creative and peaceful."

DANIELLA, PLANT ENTHUSIAST

"I love Flourishing Minds Company for the helpful and

kind reminders of the importance of self-care and self-love."

HEATHER, PLANT MOM

I was fortunate enough to participate in a couple of the workshops offered by Flourishing Minds. I truly did not know much about plant therapy but afterwards I felt compelled to learn more + explore more of the natural elements around me.

JENNIFER, PLANT NEWBIE

Horticultural Therapy

Humans have an innate desire to be connected with nature, scientists have referred to this phenomena as ‘biophilia’. There is no doubt in our mind that humans belong outside, amongst the greenery, a place where they can fully connect with our nature and their reality. Working alongside plant materials as a therapeutic medium has been proven to improve a persons, mental, physical and spiritual well- being. Channelling our negative and/or creative energy into horticulture not only relives anxiety, but fosters growth and imagination. We want you to connect back to nature and ultimately, connect back with yourself.
